Ham Chim Piang - Chinese Cinnamon Rolls


Seasoning3tsp Chinese 5 spice
3tsp fine salt

(Adjust to your taste, I made less salty cos I have little one)

Mixture A
1 cup of WARM(not hot) milk
1 tsp instant yeast
3 tsp sugar
Mix altogether til it is foamy(15mins)

Mixture B
2 cups of plain flour
3 tsp sugar
1 tsp vegetable oil

Add A into B.
Knead til smooth and no longer sticky.
Proof til double in size (1 hour). Knead again, proof til double again (1 hour). Add 1tsp of vege oil into dough, knead and roll out to a huge rectangle.

Sprinkle the seasoning evenly.

Roll it up TIGHT like a swiss roll cake.

Slice into 1 cm thick.
Flatten every slice with your handpalm.

Deep fry in hot oil til both sides are golden brown.

Brew a cup of coffee/tea and enjoy yummy ham chim piang
