Baked Nan Gao
This is a Must-Do annual bake for Chinese New Year. Usually I would use about 60 eggs for this item. The recipe has been refined and fine-tuned to our taste, health choice and tight budget (reduce the eggs).
Eeggs in 2022-2023 has been in great shortage. One tray of 30 eggs Size AA used to be RM15, now no more in sale. Size A used to be RM12, now its RM24. Even Size B used to be RM11, now its RM22.
6 - 8 Eggs (Size A)
500 ml water
500 Gula Melaka
500 gm Glutinous Rice
1 tsp Baking Powder
160 C 50 mins - add 10 mins if still need.
I made them as round cakes to give away.
