Christmas Baking & Cooking 2024

Christmas is not just a day but the season of meaning and traditions, special season to be spent in the warm circle of family and friends.

A journal of Year End Baking and Cooking. I am moving into more purposeful and intentional baking and cooking due to pressure of time and also the increase cost of materials. Less is more now. Intentional is to ensure no wastage.

• Yielded 7 loaves 600 gram, 1.3 Kg Round - Lucia, PC, Nancy, Peter, Robin, Dinner (2), Round for DMH

17 Dec 2024 Monday

• First batch of Fruit Cakes
• midnight baking 1:00 am in oven
• Yielded 4 loaves of 700 gram, 1.4 Kg Round, 2X 800 gram Small Round - Large Round for DMH, 1 SR for CG Gathering, 1 SR for Celestina & Robin,

• Baked 5 Portions of Fruit Cakes & 5 Portions of Prune Cakes
• Evening Baking until 1 am
• Yielded Prune 3X 750 gm S-Round, 3X 1.2 Kg M-Round, 
• Yielded Fruit 6X 750 gm Rectangle, 4X 400 gm Rectangle

1.2 Kg Christmas Fruit Cake dusted with Icing Sugar for a family dinner on 19 Dec 24

Eggs Counts :-

25 + 30 + 25 + 27 + 25 + 25 + 25 + 25 = 207

Butter Counts :-

5 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 5  = 40 blocks 

In total, this year without any sales, I have baked 8 times of 5X large portions recipes, that is translated to 207 of Eggs and 40 cubes of Butter !

• Baked Chocolate Sponge Cakes 24 Eggs, 1 Kg Sponge Mix, 200 gm water,  600 gm melted Butter
• Yielded 2 large Round, 2 small Round, 1 medium Round tins 

In total, this year without any sales, I have used baked 8 times of 5X large portions recipes, that is translated to 207 of Eggs and 40 cubes + 600 gm of Butter !
